Wydad Casablanca (WAC) seized first place with a decisive win over FAR Rabat (FAR) Saturday (March 13th) on Day 22 of the Moroccan Premiere League tournament.
FAR maintained a nearly impenetrable defence in front of a crowd of 35,000 spectators, but WAC defender Khalid Sekkat broke through with a penalty kick in the 35th minute to win the game 1-0.

FAR defender Moulad Falah praised their new coach Aziz Laâmri despite the loss.
"We sought to breathe spirit, performance and discipline back into the team, which is what our new coach succeeded in doing during training," he said. "We need to focus now on the Coupe du Trône and the CAF Cup."
Wydad now lead the league with 44 points.
Day 22 also featured a stunning 2-0 Widad Fez (WAF) victory over FUS Rabat (FUS).
WAF striker Mly Zaher Regue led an early offensive with a goal in the 10th minute of play, and midfielder Omar Hassi followed with a second goal against FUS at 33 minutes.
FUS, despite several scoring attempts, were never able to get past WAF keeper Amine El-Bourkadi 's defence.
Strong defence also marked Raja Casablanca 's 2-1 victory over Difaa El Jadida (DHJ) March 14th.
DHJ scored their first and only goal at 36 minutes during a moment of confusion among the Raja defence, but Raja held the line for the rest of the match and returned with two goals of their own. Star striker Omar Najdi scored the equaliser for Raja at 75 minutes, and striker Youssef Agnaou made the game winning goal at 90 minutes.
Raja now hold second place in the league with 39 points.
A smooth pass from teammate Gleison George di Souza led to a scoring opportunity for Brazilian striker Luiz Jeferson Escher and a victory for Kawkab Marrakech (KACM) March 14th. KACM defeated Moghreb Tetouan 1-0 in front of a packed crowd.
Maghreb Fez (MAS) overwhelmed visitors HUSA Agadir with a torrent of offence and a 4-1 victory March 14th. MAS forward Samir Sarsar drew first blood with a goal in the 29th minute, and teammate Flavio Barros followed with two goals in the 32nd and 54th minutes. Sarsar scored a final goal for MAS at 62 minutes.
HUSA striker Khalid Sbai managed a late goal at 79 minutes, but his team were unable to mount a comeback against MAS's lead. HUSA defender Mohamed Hssaini received a red card in the 66th minute.
KAC Kenitra keeper Amine Sadika also earned a red card Sunday in a 1-0 loss to JS Massira (KSM). JSM striker Aziz Jonaid scored in the 68th minute after the referee disqualified a JSM goal in the 36th.
Also on March 14th, Ittihad Khemisset and Olympique Safi played to a 1-1 draw, while Olympique Khouribga defeated AS Sale 1-0.
