Five Moroccan family members were asphyxiated in a flat fire in the city of Nimes in southern France.
On Friday January First 2010 at 5 A.M, the sixth floor flat in which family Alla, originally from Nador in north Morocco, lived for decades was on fire and killed a 74 grandmother, the father Abd-el-Kader 55 and three other children ,a young girl of 15 and two brothers 11 and 26.
The flat which is part of social houses did not have any smoke detector
Or any safety exits. The fire, says the French police, was caused by an electric accident in the kitchen.
This tragic incident in the Moroccan community in France followed the death of the two sisters, 24 and 26 years old, Souad and Najia , originally from Taza,a north central Moroccan city.
The two sisters were found dead on December 19th in their Peugeot 307 after it, probably, had a run-off-road collision and felled in a river in the city of Agen a commune in the Lot-et-Garonne department in Aquitaine in south-western France.
